Family-centred support

Practical support for autistic children in Mississauga and Peel Region

Autism Guide Support works with parents and caregivers to turn difficult everyday moments into safe, meaningful activities that can support connection, confidence, participation, and independence.

Our programs are for all ages, with a current focus on children ages 8–15. We’re starting with families in Mississauga and Peel Region.

Request support

One family. One challenge. One meaningful next step.

Families may have information, referrals, and professional services, yet still need practical support for everyday situations at home and in the community.

Autism Guide Support starts with one real challenge, one practical activity, and one meaningful next step—guided by the family’s priorities and the child’s interests, needs, and communication.

Our program

The Everyday Guide Lab

The Everyday Guide Lab is being piloted within Autism Guide Support. Its approach has three steps:

  1. Step 1

    Listen and understand

Explore what is happening, when it happens, and what the child may enjoy, need, or communicate.

  2. Step 2

    Design and try

Consider a safe, meaningful activity connected to the child’s interests and the family’s priorities.

  3. Step 3

    Reflect and grow

Review the experience, make adjustments, and choose one realistic next step.

The child stays at the centre

  • The autistic child

Remains at the centre of decisions.

  • The parent or caregiver

Acts as the trusted guide for everyday activities.

  • Support Partners

Contribute knowledge, resources, encouragement, and practical support—without taking control of the family’s journey.

A separate way to request support

Request a free kit

Parents and caregivers can request a free sensory, educational, or life-skills kit separately from requesting to join the Everyday Guide Lab pilot.

The community around the family

Teachers, educational assistants, psychologists, therapists, social workers, family members, friends, volunteers, and community organizations can all help strengthen support around a family.

Support Partners contribute without taking control of the family’s journey.
